Types of Food Safety Testers
There are many types of food safety detectors, and the common ones can be divided into the following categories based on the detection object and principle:
1、 Classified by testing items
Pesticide residue detector: mainly used to detect pesticide residues such as organophosphates and amino esters in agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits. Veterinary drug residue detector: used to detect antibiotic, hormone and other veterinary drug residues in meat, eggs, dairy products. Microbial detector: can quickly detect microbial contamination such as bacteria, mold, yeast, etc. in food.
Heavy metal detector: detects the content of heavy metal elements such as lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, etc. in food. Additive detector: for quantitative or qualitative detection of preservatives, pigments, sweeteners and other additives in food. Toxins detector: used to detect natural toxins such as aflatoxin and botulinum toxin.
2、 Classified by detection principle
Spectral detectors, such as UV visible spectrophotometers, fluorescence spectrophotometers, etc., use the absorption or emission characteristics of substances to detect light. Chromatographic detectors: including gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, etc., which perform qualitative and quantitative analysis by separating different substances. Quick detection test strips/cards: easy and fast to operate, suitable for on-site preliminary screening, such as pesticide residue rapid detection cards, microbial rapid detection test strips, etc.
The application of food safety detectors has built a solid safety defense line for every link of food production to the dining table. It safeguards the public's "tongue safety" with accurate detection data, and also promotes the development of the food industry towards a more standardized and reliable direction. In the future, with the continuous advancement of technology, we believe it will play a greater role in ensuring food safety, making every food withstand inspection and allowing people to eat with peace of mind.
