Conducting in vivo measurements of crop stems at various stages of growth, and then statistically processing population measurement data based on the correlation between stem fiber layer bending resistance and lodging resistance, is of great significance for crop cultivation and breeding. The plant stem strength meter uses a tensile and compressive sensor to measure the maximum force generated at the moment of stem fracture or yield, that is, the strength of the stem, through needle punching, crushing, and breaking.
